I'm the Founder of CounselorStudy.com

I created this site to help counseling students and professionals prepare to take the NCMHCE. I have a passion for helping others, and "others" includes other helping professionals. I have been told that I have the capability of simplifying concepts and ideas so they are easily understandable. This is one of my goals for the site. I also remember how frustrated it was for me while studying for the NCMHCE when I couldn't find more information and more ways to learn and prepare to take the test. 

While preparing to take my own exam I used counselingexam.com and found that site extremely helpful, especially the simulations. I managed to pass the NCMHCE on my first try and I am positive I wouldn't have done so without the help of counselingexam.com and their simulations. My hope is that this site will be supplemental to your other study materials. If there are areas you are wanting to learn more about but can't find the information or are having a hard time understanding/making sense of the information please reach out to me. I am more than happy to add more to this site as well as communicate with you to help you prepare for the test, study to your best ability, and be prepared to work professionally in the field. 

I have been working in the mental health field for nearly 5 years and practicing mental health counseling for over a year. I graduated with my BA in 2018, I majored in Psychology, and double-minored in Trauma Advocacy and Criminal Justice. I graduated in 2021 with my MS in Mental Health Counseling. I am currently practicing under supervision with a temporary license in Iowa for Heartland Counseling Services, LLC. Additionally, I serve as the Secretary on the board of the American Counseling Association of Iowa. Prior to providing counseling I have worked in community-based mental health as a Habilitation Provider, Supervisor of Habilitation, Mental Health Coordinator and the Program Director of Community-Based services in Southeast Iowa.
